Fenugreek seed is the ripe fruit of an annual herb. It is a cold season crop and is fairly tolerant to frost and very low temperature. Fenugreek is used as a herb (dried or fresh leaves), spice (seeds), and vegetable (fresh leaves, sprouts, and microgreens).

Fenugreek active Constituents contain steroidal sapponins, diosgenin, coumarin, hydroxy-isoluceine and luceine, tyrosine, protein, B-Complex Vitamins including folate, lecithin and small amounts of vitamin C and beta carotene.

The seeds are used in cooking. Fenugreek is taken by mouth for digestive problems such as loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation, inflammation of the stomach. Its used in ingredient in pickles, curry powders, and spice mixtures. It has also has been recommended to stimulate milk production.
